For those who know me, or those who have even just read the title of my business, it should come at no surprise to hear that I personally love to explore and visit new places.
For goodness sake I practically built my business to cater to fellow wanderlust travelers who want to document their love stories in magical places, hence the name Meandering Media! So, every summer I try to take a little trip out of my comfort zone and explore a new part of the world I’ve never visited.
This year, 2024 was going to be the year I finally went to Italy!
The Magic of Italy
Italy has always held a special magic for me. It represents a tangible embodiment of love, thanks to its rich—and sometimes controversial—history, its beautiful language, delicious cuisine, enchanting music, stunning landscapes, and breathtaking ocean views. Everything about it captures my heart—I simply adore it all.
To be honest and a little vulnerable, I always envisioned visiting Italy with the love of my life. But since that person hasn’t shown up for me yet, I chose to explore my dream destination for the sake of love itself, rather than with someone I love. Surprisingly, I discovered so much more love than I ever imagined!
Here are some of the Highlights from Italy…
1st Stop: Lake Como!
I started my journey in Lake Como Italy and met six amazing couples celebrating everything from engagements, to honeymoons, to their first vacation together! Love was absolutely in the air & I am beyond grateful I was able to capture so many amazing moments.
Ah Lake Como… I WILL absolutely be back. Lake Como is completely worthy of all the hype I’ve seen online regarding their popularity for destination weddings. It’s really very easy to fall in love with how tranquil, historic, scenic, and sweet this enchanting location is. I am so excited to be back there capturing weddings in the near future!
2nd Stop: Off to Venice!
I only got to spend a very short time in Venice and it poured the entire visit. But the pistachio croissants and dark gaudy architecture DID not disappoint. If anything the misty rain meant we had a moody and cool photoshoot with these two honeymooners!
Shelby & Dustin were celebrating their honeymoon in Italy just days after their magical wedding day. So grateful these two wonderful people giggled their way through the rain in the City of Water!
3rd Stop: When In Rome!
My final stop with clients in Italy was in Rome! I was SO excited when I learned my wedding clients, Barbara and Brandon were honeymooning while I was passing through this incredible city!
Somehow I convinced them to wake up early, grab some coffee, and head to the Trevi Fountain.
Final Chapter: Sorrento & The Amalfi Coast
I’m completely in love with Italy. I’ll be retuning to this enchanting place next year to capture even more love stories!
